Ilkeston Swimming Club was first formed and established by Mrs Sue Hawley in the year of 1972. It all started out with only fifteen children that trained twice a week at our very own Victoria Park Leisure Centre. Sue stayed with the club for fifteen years and left in 1987, leaving her long lasting legacy behind with the emphasis upon swimmers enjoying their sport and being competitive. Monday, 24 June 2013.
Ilkeston Swimming Club was formed in 1972 and has a long tradition of teaching children to swim from beginners through to the top swimmers in the Country. Once our members have achieved competent swimming status they are encouraged to continue, to become a stronger, technically improved swimmer.
